Two Flying Dutch Lauded By MIAA In Women's Soccer

Two Hope College women's soccer players have received weekly honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) — Jessie Lockwood and Nora Kirk.

Kirk is the MIAA's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The junior from Maumee, Ohio (Toledo Notre Dame Academy) was a constant offensive threat for the Flying Dutch in two MIAA victories last week. Kirk had eight shots on goal and assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Adrian.

Kirk is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and in her career.

Lockwood is the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week.

The freshman from Kentwood (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) played every minute of both games at the center back position as she helped limit Hope's opponents to two goals in two victories. She helped contain Adrian's powerful offensive tandem of Sam Barker and Erin Weide in a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs.

Lockwood is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
