Hope libero Allie Mitchell is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball.

The sophomore from Ada (Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern HS), led the Flying Dutch defensively with 86 digs as Hope won five straight matches during the week.

Mitchell had 27 digs in a five-set victory over Elmhurst, Ill., and added 19 more in another five-set win over Wittenberg, Ohio, both at the Midwest Invitational tournament.

Mitchell is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
