Ben Zank's 8K run of 25 minutes, 54.9 seconds led the Hope men's cross country team to a runner-up performance at the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday.
Zank, a junior from Midland (H.H. Dow HS), finished 10th place overall out of 277 runners.
Senior Samuel Pederson of Mt. Prospect, Ill., (Prospect HS) took 23rd at 26:15.7.
The Flying Dutchmen also received points from senior James Rogers of Saginaw (Valley Lutheran HS) in 30th at 26:15.7, sophomore Joseph Beemer of St. Joseph (St. Jospeh HS) in 37th at 26:40.0 and freshman Julian Morrison of Aurora, Ill. (Waubonside Valley HS) in 52ndat 27:04.4.
Hope totaled 116 points to trail only Grand Valley State University (46) in the 25-team event.
