2013 Season Outlook for Hope Men's Golf

Collin Breit

The Flying Dutchmen will rely on two junior co-captains as they swing for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship and NCAA Division III Tournament berth this season.

Coach Bob Ebels begins his 22nd season with a roster that features six juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen.

Co-captains are juniors Collin Breit of Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian HS) and Evan Telzerow of Grand Rapids (Forest Hills Northern HS). Breit is a returning All-MIAA First Team golfer who averaged an 18-hole score of 76 per league jamboree.

Last season, Hope finished second in the MIAA regular-season standings in the fall and fourth in the league's NCAA Division III Championship qualifier in the spring. The Flying Dutchmen have claimed 10 MIAA titles in the past 14 seasons.

The Flying Dutchmen will host a MIAA Jamboree on October 3 at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive, their home course. They open the season August 30-31 at a 36-hole, two-day event hosted by Olivet College.
