Seniors Sam Pederson of Mt. Prospect, Ill. (Mount Prospect HS) and James Rogers of Saginaw (Valley Lutheran HS) are joining an elite group of captains for the Hope men's cross country team.

Sam Pederson, a math major, is a returning NCAA Division III Academic All-American as well as a All-Region and All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) runner. ˇAt the 2013 MIAA Track and Field Championships, Pederson took second second in the 10K and fourth in the 5K. ˇ

Rogers is a senior communications major who also is a captain for the men's track & field team. He took third in the 1,500 meters at the 2013 MIAA Track & Field Championships. He also is an accomplished musician and has a recorded an album which is listed with ITunes.
