Sophomore Collin Breit of Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian H.S.) provided a top highlight for the Hope College men's golf team during the 2012-13 season by earning First Team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors.
It marked the 16th consecutive season the Flying Dutchmen had an All-MIAA First Team golfer.
Hope finished fourth during the MIAA's four-team NCAA Division III Championships qualifier, shooting a 54-hole score of 968 at the four-team spring event. Calvin College (956) won. Graham VanderHeide's 76 during the first 18-hole event was Hope's lowest round of the qualifier.
The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the NCAA qualifier by taking second after eight,18-hole rounds of MIAA Jamboree play. They placed just 10 strokes out of first place.
Hope finished first at two MIAA Jamborees. Breit posted the fifth-best average during the final at 76.0 strokes per 18 holes.
