The Hope men's soccer team has made a rapid rise in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tires NCAA Division III Poll.
Unranked two weeks ago, the Flying Dutchmen now sit eighth in the poll released this afternoon (Sept. 16). Hope was 22nd last week.
Hope owns a 4-1-1 record. The Flying Dutchmen are on a four-match win streak that includes wins the past two weeks against two teams ranked in the Top 10 at the time — Wheaton (Ill.) and Dominican (Ill.).
The Flying Dutchmen play today at 4 p.m. at Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival and reigning league champion Calvin College. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m.
It is the league opener for both teams. Calvin was picked first in the MIAA preseason coaches poll, while Hope was second.
