Hope College men's soccer player Logan Sikkenga has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.

The junior from Hudsonville (Hudsonville HS) had a strong week on both ends of the field in leading the Flying Dutchmen to two MIAA victories. Sikkenga scored twice on headers, one off a corner kick and another off a throw-in, and helped patrol the backline in a 3-1 win over Albion, then added an assist on the go-ahead goal in a 4-1 victory over Trine.

Sikkenga is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
