Two Flying Dutchmen Triple Jumpers Shine During Season Debut

 

The Hope men's track & field team placed 16th at the season-opening Mike Lints Indoor Invitational at Grand Valley State University on Friday.

The Flying Dutchmen scored six points at the 17-team event that drew more 1,000 athletes from NCAA Division II and III schools as well as NAIA schools.

Senior David Dolfin of Hingham, Wis. (Oostburg HS), finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 2.25 inches.

Senior Warren Hunt of Buckeye, Ariz. (Aqua Fria HS) came in seventh in the triple jump. He had a leap of 38-4.75.

Hope took 13th in the 4 by 400-meter relay. Senior Jacob Everly of Woodstock, Ill. (Marian Central Catholic HS), senior Matthew Johnson of White Lake (Saint Mary's Prep), senior Nicholas Heyboer of Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) and Dolfin had a time of 3:38.67.
