Men's Track and Field Records Two Season-Best, Three-Runner-Up Efforts over Two Meets

The Hope College men's track and field team recorded season-best times in the 400 meters and 400-meter hurdles and runner-up efforts in the 400 hurdles, 4x100 relay and the discus last weekend during last-chance meets in Illinois and Wisconsin.

At the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, sophomore Kevin Barifagok of Las Vegas, Nevada (Cristo Rey Saint Victor), clocked a season-best 400-meter hurdle run of 52.07 seconds on Friday and finished second.

In the 400 meters, junior Dylan Terpstra of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville), posted a season-best time of 47.79 seconds and placed fourth at La Crosse.

Terpstra also ran the second leg of the second-place 4x100 relay that went 40.93 seconds on Friday for second place, teaming with senior Nolan Sanders of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow), freshman Maurice Street of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Kalamazoo Central), and freshman Luke Bellino of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton). The 4x400 relay went 41.24 at Francis on Saturday and claimed third place.

At St. Francis University in Lisle, Illinois, freshman Aaron Hunt of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) delivered a runner-up discus throw of 46.50 meters (152 feet, 7 inches).

Sanders sprinted to a fifth-place, 100-meter time of 10.78 seconds at La Crosse.

Sophomore Elias Kretchmar of Granville, Ohio (Granville) finished sixth in the 5,000 meters at Francis by clocking a time of 14:52.04.
