Men's Track and Field Brett Showers '26

Track's Kevin Barifagok Sprints to Runner-Up Finish in 400m Hurdles at GVSU

The Hope College men's track and field team recorded multiple top-eight finishes on Saturday at Grand Valley State University, highlighted by strong performances in the hurdles, jumps, and throws.

Sophomore Kevin Barifagok (Las Vegas, Nevada / Cristo Rey Saint Viator) led the Flying Dutchmen with a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 53.24 seconds.


In the field events, freshman Aaron Hunt (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) placed fifth in the discus throw with a mark of 47.09 meters (154 feet, 6 inches).


Sophomore Logan Lipka (Frankenmuth, Michigan / Frankenmuth) added a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.09 meters (42-11 ½). Junior Brad Raredon (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) placed sixth at 11.80 meters (38-8 ¾) and junior Henry Burnham (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) finished seventh at 11.73 meters (38-6).


Hope will compete next on Thursday-Friday, April 30-May 1, at the MIAA Outdoor Championships, presented by Collegiate Credit Union, at Hope College. Competition begins at noon each day.
