The Hope College men's cross country team ran to a ninth-place finish at the Muskegon Community College Jayhawk Invitational on Friday.
Hope finished ninth with 262 points. Grand Valley State University (20) won.
Freshman Kyle Funk of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), led Hope by finishing 62nd out of 132 runners with an 8K time of 28:05.75 at University Park Golf Course.
Junior Austin Elluru of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Hackett HS), placed 66th in 28:17.15. Elluri is pictured at right.
Freshman Robbie Heyboer of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), came in 79th in 28:54.81.
Freshman Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa 9Johnston HS), took 85th in 29:09.77.
Freshman William Henkel of Lambertville, Michigan (Erie-Mason HS), rounded out Hope's scoring by placing 93rd in 29:34.18.
Freshman Brandon Wolliston of Weidman, Michigan (Chippewa Hills HS), placed 101st at 29:49.32.
