Ben Zank recorded a Top-15 finish to lead the Hope College men's cross country team at the Greater Louisville Classic's Blue Division on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
The senior from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS), placed 13th out of 356 runners by clocking a time of 25 minutes, 8.5 seconds in the 8K race. Zank is pictured at right.
Hope totaled 521 points for 15th place out of 42 teams.
Junior Joseph Beemer of St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph HS), came in 78th with a run of 25:59.00.
Senior Zach Zandbergen of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS), finished 126th in 26:24.70.
Freshman Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS), was 130th in 26:27.12.
Sophomore Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS), rounded out Hope's scoring after placing 182nd in 26:48.62.
Two other runners competed for the Flying Dutchmen: junior Noah Litwiller of Delavan, Illinois (Olympia HS), in 213th at 27:12.24 and sophomore Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS), in 230th at 27:22.84.
Hope races again on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College.
