The Hope College women's swimming & diving team is seeded second in three events for tonight's finals at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships.

The four-day meet at Calvin College resumes tonight at 5:30 p.m.

Hope's 200 freestyle relay of freshman Molly Meyer of South Bend, Ind. (John Adams HS, sophomore Kaleigh Mullen of Rochester (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep), junior Emily Weber of Milan (Milan HS) and freshman Mikayla Freyling of Alto (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) clocked a preliminary time of 1:38.86.

The Flying Dutch's 400 medley relay came in second. The relay of senior Maria Kieft of Spring Lake (Spring Lake HS), sophomore Jorgie Watson of Grand Rapids (Catholic Central HS), sophomore Lindsay Wiederhold of Plainwell (Plainwell HS) and senior Bethany Schmall of Portage (Portage Central HS) had a preliminary time of 4:03.87.

Sophomore Klare Northuis of Holland (Holland HS) took second in the 50 freestyle preliminary with a swim of 24.24. Freyling (fifth at 24.51) and Kieft (eighth at 24.68) will join Northuis in the championship final.

Wiederhold took third in the 500 freestyle preliminary by posting a time of 5:10.18.

Watson, pictured above, and sophomore Michelle Hance of Noblesville, Ind. (Noblesville HS) reached the championship final in the 200 individual medley. Watson took fifth at 2:12.51, while Hance was sixth at 2:12.54.

Hope is in second place heading into tonight with 34 points. Calvin leads with 40.
