The Hope College women's swimming & diving team earned three No. 1 seeds for tonight's finale of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships.
The Flying Dutch posted three of the top performances during Saturday's morning preliminaries. Hope is in second place heading into tonight's finals with 544 points. Host Calvin College (586) leads.

Tonight's finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
Sophomore Jorgie Watson claimed the top seed in the 200-yard breaststroke. The sophomore from Grand Rapids (Catholic Central HS) clocked a preliminary time of 2 minutes, 24.81 seconds.
Sophomore Michelle Hance of Noblesville, Ind. (Noblesville HS), is third in the 200 breaststroke after a swim of 2:28.15.
Sophomore Lindsay Wiederhold of Plainwell (Plainwell HS) is the top seed in the 200 butterfly after a preliminary time of 2:10.54.
Hope will be seeded No. 1 for the meet's final race — the 400 freestyle relay. Hance, sophomore Hannah Larson of Jackson (Jackson HS), senior Bethany Schmall of Portage (Portage Central HS) and junior Emily Weber of Milan (Milan HS) topped preliminaries with a swim of 3:38.82.
Hope grabbed three of the top five seeds for the 200 backstroke.
Larson is seeded second after swimming a preliminary time of 2:06.39. She is followed by senior Maria Kieft of Spring Lake (Spring Lake HS), who was fourth at 2:07.95. Freshman Molly Meyer of South Bend, Ind. (John Adams HS), was fifth at 2:08.64.
Sophomore Klare Northuis of Holland (Holland HS) swam a 100 freestyle time of 52.85 seconds during preliminaries for the second seed. Freshman Mikayla Freyling of Alto (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) is sixth after a preliminary effort of 54.51.
