Hope College's Sarah Sheridan put herself in position to dive at the NCAA Division III National Championships later this month with a strong performance at regionals this weekend.
The sophomore from Richmond, Ind., is among six unofficial qualifiers from the Denison (Ohio) University regional that concluded on Saturday. The NCAA announces the official diving field on Monday.
Sheridan, pictured, finished fourth in the region in 1-meter diving on Saturday. She had a score of 443.40 points.
On Friday, Sheridan took fourth in the region in 3-meter diving with a score of 453.05 points.
Junior Erica Dunham of Rockford (Rockford HS) placed 13th in 3-meter diving with 406.55 points and 20th in 1-diving with 368.00 points.
In men's diving, freshman Jean-Luc Miralda of Tegucigalpa, Honduras (American HS), placed 12th on the 1-meter board with 441.8 points and 19th on the 3-meter board with 402.10 points.
