Box Score The Hope College softball team fell to Fontbonne (Mo.) 4-1 on Tuesday during its spring trip in Clermont, Fla.
Third baseman Kelsey Cooper of Romeo (Romeo HS) knocked in Hope's run with a sixth-inning sacrifice fly that plated second baseman Jenna Maury of Lawton (Lawton HS).
Losing pitcher Natalie Hiser (2-1) allowed three hits and three runs in 2 1/3 innings. Two of the runs against the junior from Westland (Livonia Churchill HS) were earned.
The Flying Dutch dropped on the season to 2-3 overall.
Hope has an off-day Wednesday, then returns to action on Thursday, March 20, with games against McDaniel (Md.) at 8 a.m. and Benedictine (Ill.) at 10 a.m.
