Flying Dutch Finish 23rd In 200 Medley Relay At Nationals

The Hope College women's swimming & diving team finished 23rd in the 200-yard medley relay during Wednesday's preliminaries for the NCAA Division III Championships in Bloomington, Ind.

The top 16 relays advanced to tonight's finals at the University of Indiana.

Sophomore Klare Northuis of Holland (Holland HS), sophomore Michelle Hance of Noblesville, Ind. (Noblesville HS), sophomore Molly Meyer of South Bend, Ind. (John Adams HS), and freshman Mikayla Freyling of Alto (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) clocked a time of 1 minute, 48.75 seconds.

On Thursday, March 20, the same four swimmers will compete in the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relays at nationals.

Also on Thursday, sophomore Sarah Sheridan of Richmond, Ind. (Richmond HS), will compete in 1-meter diving. Sheridan is the 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Diver of the Year and 2014 MIAA champion in 1- and 3-meter boards.
