The Hope College men's track & field team totaled 58 points to place fifth at the 24-team Emory (Ga.) Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta.
Senior James Rogers of Saginaw (Valley Lutheran HS) came in runner-up in the men's 1,500 meters seeded race. He posted a time of 3 minutes, 56.70 seconds.
Junior Benjamin Zank of Midland (H.H. Dow HS) finished second in the men's 1,500 meters unseeded race. He had a run of 4:02.91.
Sophomore Francesco Moen of St. Joseph (Lake Michigan Catholic HS) took third in the men's 5,000 meters C-section. He had a time of 16:49.39.
Freshman Julian Morrison of Aurora, Ill. (Waubonsie Valley HS), recorded a third-place effort in the men's 5,000 meters B-section with a time of 15:53.82.
The Flying Dutchmen came in third and fourth in the men's shot put. Senior Evan Finch of Ann Arbor (Pioneer HS) went 13.23 meters for third place, while the toss of 13.09 from sophomore Gregory Glebe of Brighton (Brighton HS) was good for fourth.
Hope placed fifth in the 4x100 relay. Senior Steffon Mayhue of Holland (Holland HS), sophomore Bryce Richards of Eaton Rapids (Eaton Rapids HS), freshman Matthew Pelyhes of Augusta (Gull Lake HS) and sophomore Boone Marois of Traverse City (Central HS) clocked a run of 43.3.
Marian (Ind.) won with 106 points.
