The Hope College women's tennis team lost to NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University 7-2 on Thursday at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The Flying Dutch now are 9-5 on the season.

Hope picked up points at No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles.

At No. 2 singles, sophomore Claire Cooper of Williamston (Williamston HS) defeated GVSU's Kali Phillips 6-3, 6-4.

At No. 6 singles, sophomore Anna Garcia of Battle Creek (Lakeview HS) topped GVSU's Kelly Trapp 6-4, 6-1.
