Hope College's Autumn Anderson has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Position Player of the Week in softball for games played through April 12.
The sophomore centerfielder from Wayland (Wayland HS) hit .526 (10-for-19), scored eight runs and added three RBIs in leading the Flying Dutch to a 5-1 record for the week.
Anderson went 3-for-4, including a triple, and scored three runs as Hope completed a doubleheader sweep of Saint Mary's with a 9-2 win. She also went 2-for-4 with a double, scored two runs and batted in two more in an 11-4 win over Olivet to finish off a sweep. She went 2-for-3 with one run scored during a 3-2 win against Alma that earned the Flying Dutch a split.
Anderson is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in her career.
