Flying Dutchmen Maintain Lead At MIAA National Golf Qualifier

The Hope College men's golf team shot a team score of 307 at Wuskowhan Players Club on Friday to head into the final round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division III Qualifying Tournament.

The Flying Dutchmen lead Trine University by six strokes, Adrian College by 13 and Calvin College by 24.

Juniors Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colo. (Front Range Christian HS), and Ben Lewis of Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) both carded 4-over-par 75s for Hope, the third-lowest rounds of the day.

Junior Collin Breit of Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian HS) and freshman Winton Munch of Traverse City (Central HS) also posting scoring rounds for the Flying Dutchmen.

Breit fired a 78, while Munch had a 79.

The Flying Dutchmen have a 36-hole total of 612.

Trine's 305 was the top team score Friday. Adrian College (306) was next. Calvin had a 324.
