Benjamin Zank posted a third-place performance in the 1,500 meters to lead the Hope College men's track & field team at the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Invitational on Saturday.
The junior from Midland (H.H Dow HS) clocked a time of 3 minutes, 58.81 seconds against NCAA Division I, II and III and NAIA competitors.
Hope finished 11th overall out of 25 teams with 22 points.
Senior David Dolfin of Hingham, Wis. (Oostburg HS), took fourth in the 400 hurdles. He had a run of 57.86 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen's 4 by 100 relay placed sixth. Sophomore Luke Washington of Bollingbrook, Ill. (Timothy Christian HS), Dolfin, freshman Richard Medina of Bensenville, Ill. (Timothy Christian HS) and senior Matthew Johnson of White Lake (Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep) posted a time of 44.79 seconds.
