Collin Breit shot a 3-over-par 75 to lead the Hope College men's golf team to a first-place performance at the Steven Tyler Intercollegiate hosted by Kalamazoo College on Monday.
Breit, a junior from Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian HS), claimed medalist honors for the NCAA Division III Tournament-bound Flying Dutchmen.
Hope recorded a winning score of 315 — two strokes better than runner-up Cornerstone University at the seven-team event.
Junior Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colo. (Front Range Christian HS), tied for third with a 77.
Freshman Winton Munch of Traverse City (Central HS) shot an 81 to tie for 16th.
Junior Graham Vanderheide of Grand Rapids (Forest Hills Northern HS) carded an 82 for a 22nd-place tie.
Freshman Alec Breit of Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian HS) shot an 88 for Hope.
