Flying Dutch Earn Win At Olivet, Finish MIAA In Second Place

The Hope College women's tennis team won at Olivet College 9-0 on Saturday to complete Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play in sole possession of second place.

The regionally ranked Flying Dutch raised their record to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in MIAA matches.

Five players won both a singles and a doubles match for Hope — senior Mallory Smith of Grand Haven (Grand Haven HS) in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, freshman Kate Mader of Granger, Ind. (Penn HS), No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles, sophomore Marie Holaway of Holland (West Ottawa HS) at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles, senior Stephanie Huffman of Grand Rapids (Forest Hills Eastern HS) at No. 5 singles and No. 1 doubles and freshman Emily Hall of Mason (Mason HS) at No. 6 singles and No. 2 doubles.

The Flying Dutch will host Albion College in the MIAA Tournament semifinals on Thursday, May 1, at noon.
