Eight from Women’s Tennis Selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes

The MIAA champion Hope College women's tennis team placed eight honorees among the group of Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes for the 2025-26 academic year: recent graduates Amanda Lopykinski, Mallory Matthews and Hope Rhoades; juniors Phoebe Walker and Madison Wei; sophomore Kaitlyn Stievater; and freshmen Jana Beier and Wren Walker.

The ITA honored student-athletes who have a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. Hope's selections are among 1,309 NCAA Division III recipients nationally.

Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township HS) majored in neuroscience while claiming ITA Scholar-Athlete and All-MIAA First Team accolades four times. She was also named the MIAA"s Most Valuable Women's Tennis Player twice.

Matthews (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow HS) majored in biology.

Rhoades (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) majored in elementary education.

Phoebe Walker is a business major from Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS).

Wei is a biomedical and bioelectrical engineering major from Parker, Colorado (Regis Jesuit).

Stievater is a political science major from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Groves HS).

Beier (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll HS) earned All-MIAA First Team distinction this season.

Wren Walker is from Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS).
