Freshman Winton Munch of Traverse City (Central HS) shot a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Hope College men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the A.C. Eddy Invitational in Angola, Ind., on Wednesday.
The Flying Dutchmen finished with a team score of 296 at the 11-team event put on by Trine University. They trailed first-place Owens Community College (277), runner-up Trine (293) and third-place Madonna University (294).
Munch tied for fourth place in the individual standings.
Freshman Alec Breit of Muskegon (Western Michigan Christian HS) carded a 74 for a 22nd-place tie.
Sophomore Paul Bardenhagen of Cedar (Leland HS) added a 75 to tie for 25th.
Sophomore Kevin Cross of East Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS) shot a 76 to tie for 30th place.
Junior Graham Vanderheide of Grandville (Calvin Christian HS) had a 77 for a 39th-place tie.
