Two golfers carded 2-over-par 74s to lead the Hope College men's golf team Friday during the first round of the Olivet College Lou Collins Invitational.
The Flying Dutchmen are tied for fifth out of 16 teams heading into the final round on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
Senior Evan Telzerow of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS) and junior Paul Bardenhagen of Cedar, Michigan (Leland HS), shared the Flying Dutchmen's low rounds during their season debuts.
Hope also received a 77 from senior Colin Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), a 78 from senior Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colorado (Front Range Christian HS), a 79 from Ben Lewis of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), and an 80 from junior Kevin Cross of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS).
