Senior Evan Telzerow enjoyed a round to remember for the victorious Hope College men's golf team on Saturday.

The co-captain from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS), recorded a hole-in-one at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian en route to a first-place effort for himself and the Flying Dutchmen.

Telzerow finished at 1-over-par 72 to share low-round honors with Trine's Connor Dwyer at the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree.

Telzerow aced the 157-yard, par-3 ninth hole with an 8-iron. It was Hope's third ace in MIAA history and the sixth by any league golfer.

Telzerow joined a group of Hope golfers with hole-in-ones in league play that featured Jay Prasad (1997 at Duck Lake Country Club) and Chris Ansel (1998 at Bedford Valley Country Club).

The Flying Dutchmen carded a team score of 296 during the league jamboree and extended their lead in the MIAA standings. They lead second-place Calvin by 10, third-place Trine by 12 and fourth-place Adrian by 14.

Seniors Collin Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), and Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colorado (Front Range Christian HS), both chipped in 74s to tie for fifth place in the individual standings.

Senior Ben Lewis of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), and sophomore Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), both fired 76s to tie for 13th. 

Hope returns to action on Monday, Sept. 15, when the Flying Dutchmen host a MIAA 'B' Tournament at Macatawa Legends. Play begins at 1 p.m.
