Collin Breit shot a 2-over-par 74 to lead the Hope College men's golf team during a third-place finish at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Thursday.
Breit, a senior from Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), tied for second in the individual standings at the 18-hole event at the Medalist Golf in Marshall.
The Flying Dutchmen finished with a team score of 309. They finished four strokes behind first-place Trine and two behind second-place Calvin.
Hope maintained its leading in the overall jamboree standings. The Flying Dutchmen are eight strokes ahead of both Calvin and Trine, which are tied for second.
Sophomore Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), placed 10th with a 77.
Senior Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colorado (Front Range Christian HS, was one stroke behind Munch in 11th.
Seniors Evan Telzerow of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS), and Ben Lewis of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), both chipped in 80s.
Hope returns to action on Monday, Sept. 22, at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Kalamazoo College.
