Junior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS), clocked an 8K time of 27 minutes, 27 seconds to top the Hope College men's cross country team at the Muskegon Community College Invitational on Friday.
The Flying Dutchmen finished ninth at the invitational at University Park Golf Course.
Senior Austin Elluru of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Hackett HS), crossed the finish line next for Hope at 27:50.
Senior Frank Moen of St. Joseph, Michigan (Lake Michigan Catholic HS), had the Flying Dutchmen's third-best run at 28:00.
Other top performances for Hope came from senior Noah Litwiller of Delavan, Illinois (Olympia HS), at 28:13, sophomore William Henkel of Lambertville, Michigan (Erie-Mason HS), at 28:35, senior Matt Hughes of Kenosha, Wisconsin (Home School) at 28:36, and freshman Nicholas Johnson of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), at 28:41.
Hope will have runners compete on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.
