Freshman Ian Demrose of Macomb, Michigan (Dakota HS), clocked the fastest time for the Hope College men's cross country team at the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday.

Demrose finished 30^th out of 160 runners with an 8K performance of 27 minutes, 23.4 seconds at Grand Woods Park.

The Flying Dutchmen totaled 171 points for fifth place out of 19 teams.

Freshman Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), took 32^nd by posting a time of 27:26.2.

Freshman Andrew Kalthoff of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), placed 42^nd at 27:44.5.

Junior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS), came in 46^th at 27:51.9.

Freshman Collin Thomas of Novi, Michigan (Novi HS), rounded out Hope's scoring in 48^th place at 27:54.2. 

Other finishers for Hope were: Ryan Holman in 55^th at 28:04.4, Austin Elluru in 72^nd at 28:44.3, Matt Hughes in 76^th at 28:47.4, Frank Moen in 84^th at 29:08.2, William Henkel in 86^th at 29:10.4, Noah Litwiller in 90^th at 29:18.6, Kyle Funk in 94^th at 29:24.5, Nicholas Johnson in 95^th at 29:30.1, Prescott Binder in 112^th at 30:23.3, and Jacob Lazar in 130^th at 31:17.4.

Hope returns to action on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Muskegon Community College Invitational.
