Four Hope College cross country runners have earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association First Team honors for the 2015 season.
The eight-runner men's first team included seniors Joseph Beemer of St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph HS) and Ben Zank of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS).
Herrmann and Lowe led the women's team to its seventh MIAA championship and first since 2011 this fall, including winning performances at the league jamboree and championship races.
Three Flying Dutch runners were on the eight-member second team: senior Julia Stock of Norton Shores, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), junior Emily Joosse of Chillicothe, Ohio (Zane Trace HS), and freshman Emily Hamilton of Naperville, Illinois (Naperville HS).
Beemer and Zank helped the Flying Dutchmen place second in the MIAA standings.
Two of their teammates claimed second-team recognition: juniors Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS) and Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS).
Junior Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) and freshman Avery Lowe of North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon HS) claimed spots on the eight-member women's first team.
