The 14th-ranked Hope College women's swimming & diving team improved to 2-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meets with a 146-76 win against visiting Olivet Saturday at Kresge Natatorium.
Senior Klare Northuis of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) posted the top time in the 50-yard breaststroke at 36.08 seconds and the 50 butterfly at 28.47.
Senior Sarah Sheridan of Richmond, Indiana (Richmond HS) placed first in 1-meter diving with a total of 259.79 points and 3-meter diving with a score of 301.65.
Junior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS) won the 50 freestyle in 25.73 and the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.65.
Sophomore Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn HS) took first in the 50 backstroke in 31.33 and the 100 freestyle at 56.77.
Senior Jorgie Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) swam the fastest in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:39.29.
Sophomore Elisabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) took first in the 200 freestyle at 2:02.21.
Sophomore Julia Hines of Vienna, Virginia (James Madison HS) recorded the best effort in the 100 backstroke at 1:10.00.
Freshman Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) clocked the fastest swim in the 100 butterfly at 1:08.47.
Freshman Elisabeth Craig of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) won the 200 individual medley in 2:24.45.
Hope placed first the 200 medley relay with freshman Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS), Fris, senior Virginia Cotterall of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS) and junior Mikayla Freyling of Alto, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) going 2:00.07.
The Flying Dutch recorded the best effort in the 200 freestyle relay with sophonmore Adrienne Smith of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), Palajac, junior Katie Smith of Mokena, Illinois (Lincoln Way East HS) and Craig finishing in 1:46.60.
Hope returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-21 at the Wabash, Indiana Invitational.
