Hope College's Mallory Beswick has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through October 31.

The sophomore back from Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), anchored the Flying Dutch defense during a 3-1 road victory at Saint Mary's last week.

Beswick also posted a shot attempt in the game. It was Hope's only match of the week.

Beswick and the Flying Dutch have posted 11 shutouts this season.

This is the first time Beswick has been earned MIAA weekly recognition in her career.
