Hope College's Sarah Sheridan led a 1-2-3 finish in 3-meter diving on Friday during the first day of the Wabash Patrick Woehnker Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The senior from Richmond, Indiana (Richmond HS) scored 479.00 points. Freshman Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon HS) placed second with a score of 381.75, while senior Stephanie Polet of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) was third with 371.3 points. The Flying Dutch are second in the three-team event with 251 points. They trail DePauw, Indiana (299) and lead Maryville (52).
The final session of the two-day meet in Saturday at 10 a.m.
Sophomore Elizabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) came in runner-up in the 500 freestyle at 5 minutes, 17.00 seconds.
Junior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (South Bend HS) took second in the 200 individual medley in 2:15.13.
Senior Klare Northuis of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) was runner-up in the 50 freestyle at 25.46.
Hope finished second in the 200 freestyle relay. Freshman Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), freshman Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS), junior Mikayla Freyling of Alto, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) and Northuis finished second in 1:43.16.
The Flying Dutch were runner-up in the 400 medley relay with Meyer, senior Jorgie Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), sophomore Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn HS) and Northuis clocking a time of 4:02.69.
