The Hope College women's swimming & diving team placed first in three events on Saturday and finished runner-up finish at the two-day Wabash Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Sophomore Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn HS) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2 minutes, 13.60 seconds and the 400 individual medley in 4:44.63.
Senior Sarah Sheridan of Richmond, Indiana (Richmond HS) led a 1-2-3 effort in 1-meter diving. Sheridan totaled 457.50 points.
The Flying Dutch totaled 643 points, placing behind DePauw, Indiana (963) and ahead of Maryville, Missouri (200).
Hope recorded second-place efforts in seven individual events and three relays on Saturday.
Sophomore Elizabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) took second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:46.66 and the 1,650 freestyle with a swim of 18:30.60.
Senior Jorgie Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) placed runner-up in the 100 breaststroke with an effort of 1:10.90 and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:33.88.
Junior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS) was second in the 100 backstroke with a swim of 1:00.84 and in the 200 backstroke with an effort of 2:11.83.
Freshman Sarah Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon HS) came in second in 1-meter diving with a score of 378.45. Senior Stephanie Polet of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) was third with 358.20 points.
The 200 medley relay of senior Klare Northuis of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS), Watson, freshman Elisabeth Craig of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) and junior Mikayla Freyling of Alto, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS) clocked a runner-up swim of 1:53.19.
The 400 freestyle relay of Meyer, Fris, Palajac and Northuis posted a second-place effort of 3:43.93.
The 800 freestyle relay of Meyer, senior Kaleigh Mullen of Rochester, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep HS), Fris and Palajac placed runner-up at 8:14.40.
Hope returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-5 at the Wheaton Invitational.
