Boone Marois clocked a fourth-place effort in the 60-meter dash to top the Hope College men's track & field team at Grand Valley State University's indoor tune-up meeting on Friday.
The junior from Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), recorded a time of 7.09 seconds.
Freshman Zach Buth of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS), placed fifth in the high jump by clearing 5-7 ¼.
Junior Matt Rolain of Rochester, Michigan (Stoney Creek HS), recorded a sixth-place, 5,000-meter run of 15 minutes, 50.92 seconds. Junior Joseph Beemer of St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph HS), took seventh at 15:53.26.
Hope's 4 by 400 relay had the sixth-fastest time with sophomore Cameron Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River HS), junior Noah Litwiller of Delavan, Illinois (Olympia HS), junior Matt Webb of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grandville HS), and freshman Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy), going 3:36.61.
It was a non-scoring meeting.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, February 28, at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Invitational at Trine.
