Hope College's Nicholas Salomon has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Track Athlete of the Week for events the week of March 9-14, the MIAA announced on Wednesday.

Salomon claimed the award after placing third in the 800-meter run during the Birmingham Southern Invitational.

The sophomore from Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS), clocked a time of 1 minute, 56.65 seconds.

Salomon is being honored as MIAA Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
