Hope College's Matt Ruff has been picked as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Track Athlete of the Week for events March 16-21.

The freshman from Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy), received the award after placing sixth in the 400-meter dash at the Emory, Georgia Invitational.

Ruff's time was the fastest in the MIAA this season.

Ruff is being honored as MIAA Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
