The Hope College men's track & field team posted first-place performances in eight events during a dual meet at Calvin on Monday.
The meet did not count toward the MIAA standings and used an unusual scoring format.
The Flying Dutchmen's points were combined with the Calvin women for a winning total of 171 — 16 more than the combined total of the Flying Dutch and the Calvin men.
Junior Boone Marois of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS), took first in both the 100 and 200 meters with efforts of 11.05 and 22.64 seconds, respectively.
Freshman Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa Hills HS), won in the 400 by clocking a time of 52.47.
Sophomore Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS), led a 1-2-3 finish for Hope in the 800 meters with a run of 1:58.92.
Freshman Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS), recorded a first-place performance in the 3,000 meters of 9:03.25.
Sophomore Ryan Arndt of Holland, Michigan (Zeeland West HS), posted a winning 400-hurdle effort of 58.80.
The Flying Dutchmen took first in the 4 by 100 relay. Junior Luke Washington of Bolingbrook, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS), freshman Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy), sophomore Matt Pelyhes of Augusta, Michigan (Gull Lake HS), and Marois finished in 44.29.
Hope also won the 4 by 400 relay. Marois, senior Tim Simon of Richland, Michigan (Gull Lake HS), Salomon and Ruff clocked a time of 3:36.27.
The Flying Dutchmen return to action on Friday with a 1 p.m. dual meet at Alma.
