The Hope College men's track & field posted runner-up performances in two events en route to a ninth-place finish at the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Classic on Saturday in Allendale.
Junior Dion Goliday of Muskegon, Michigan (Oakridge HS), was runner-up in the long jump by leaping 21 feet, 8 inches.
Junior Boone Marois of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS), came in second in the 100 meters with a run of 10.89 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen totaled 30 points at the 23-team event.
Senior Ben Zank of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS), posted a fourth-place, 1,500-meter effort of 3:56.91.
The Flying Dutchmen placed sixth in the 4 by 100 relay.Junior Luke Washington of Bolingbrook, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS), freshman Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy), sophomore Matt Pelyhes of Augusta, Michigan (Gull Lake HS) and Marois clocked a time of 42.80.
Marois also finished sixth in the 200 meters at 22.47. Ruff was eighth at 22.67.
Freshman Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa Hills HS), took eighth in the 800 at 1:55.71.
Washington had an eighth-place triple jump of 41-8.
Hope returns to action next weekend by sending athletes to either the Hillsdale College Gina Relays or the Mousseau Classic at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids.
