Hope Men's Golf Places Ninth At Calvin Spring Invitational

Sophomore Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS), carded a 5-over-par 77 at Pilgrim's Run to lead the Hope College men's golf team during a ninth-place finish at the Calvin Spring Invitational on Tuesday.

The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 341.

Freshman John Kendall of Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), chipped in an 83 for Hope. Freshman Kade Hoeksema of Caledonia, Michigan (South Christian HS), carded an 88, while sophomore Alec Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), had a 93.

Grand Rapids Community College (316) finished first by one stroke over Calvin and two over Trine. Other team scores were: Davenport (324), Rochester (329), Huntington, Indiana (331), Cornerstone (338), and Aquinas (350).

Hope returns to action this weekend when the Flying Dutchmen host the final two 18-hole rounds of the MIAA's NCAA Division III Championship qualifier at Wuskowhan Players Club.
