Hope College opens the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships today at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.
Coach Bob Ebels' Flying Dutchmen make their 10th postseason appearance as a team. There are 210 golfers in the field. The MIAA champions were among 32 teams to earn an automatic berth and 41 total to qualify.
Hope will play Grandover's 7,200-yard East and 6,710 West Courses over the next two days in an attempt to make the cut to 15 teams.
The final two rounds will be on Thursday and Friday. The Flying Dutchmen tied for 17th in the nation last season at Grandover.
Hope averaged a score of 301.65 per 18 holes this season.
Sophomore Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS), topped the Flying Dutchmen with an average of 74.27.
Four seniors will join him at nationals. Their scores are within one stroke of each other.
Evan Telzerow of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern HS), shot 75.63 this season.
Ben Lanting of Littleton, Colorado (Front Range Christian HS), carded the third-lowest average at 75.81.
Collin Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS), averaged 76.20.
Ben Lewis of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), was next at 76.49.
Schreiner, Texas, the 2014 national champion, is among the teams in this year's field.
