Distance runner Ben Zank and long jumper Dion Goliday both placed ninth on Friday for the Hope College men's track & field team at the North Central Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois.
Zank, a senior from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS), clocked a 10,000-meter time of 31 minutes, 33.82 seconds.
Goliday, a junior from Muskegon, Michigan (Oakrdige HS), recorded a leap of 21 feet, 1 ¼ inches.
It was a nonscoring meet.
Junior Luke Washington of Bolingbrook, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS), took 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, 5 inches and 14th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.40.
Freshman Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy HS), placed 11th in the 400 meters at 50.47 and 13th in the 200 meters at 22.44.
Senior Jacob Everly of Woodstock, Illinois (Marian Catholic Central HS), was 11th in the javelin at 151-6.
Freshman Zach Williams of Dowagiac, Michigan (Dowagiac HS), finished 13th in the triple jump at 38-9 ¾ and 15th in the long jump at 19-2.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS), came in 19th at 9:38.25, while freshman Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS) was 21st at 9:41.50.
Sophomore Richard Medina of Bensenville, Illinois (Timothy Christian HS), was 25th in the 400 meters at 52.86.
