Senior Joseph Beemer of St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph HS), clocked a 41st-place time to lead the Hope College men's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the 28-team Calvin Invitational Saturday in Grand Rapids.
Beemer posted a 8K run of 26 minutes, 18.3 seconds at Gainey Athletic Complex for his spot among 355 runners.
The Flying Dutchmen totaled 315 points. Calvin won with 57 points.
Junior Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS), pictured, finished 50th with a time of 26.31.3.
Sophomore Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS), came in 59th at 26.40.2.
Senior Ryan Boxeth of Saline, Michigan (Saline HS), took 81st at 27:14.7.
Sophomore Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston HS), rounded out Hope's scoring in 91st at 27:18.2.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Flying Dutchmen host the MIAA Jamboree at West Ottawa Golf Club.
