Three Hope College men's golfers shot even-par or lower to power the Flying Dutchmen Tuesday to a first-place tie at the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree of the season.
The Flying Dutchmen posted a team score of 293 at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek to share top honors at the eight-team event with Calvin.
Sophomore Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), and freshman Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS), both carded 1-under-par 71s to lead Hope. They were among three golfers who shared medalist honors.
Junior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), chipped in a 72 to tie for fourth place.
Freshman Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS), rounded out Hope's scoring with a 79.
Freshman Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), had an 80 for the Flying Dutchmen.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 when the Flying Dutchmen tee off in the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Alma College.
