The see-saw battle on the links continued in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's golf race on Monday.
Hope College is in second place in the overall standings after the fourth lead change in as many league jamborees.
The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 306 at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids to finish third out of eight teams. Calvin won with a 296 on its course. Trine (304) was second.
Hope now trails Calvin by 12 strokes after six jamborees. There are two jamborees left: Saturday at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian and Tuesday, Oct. 6 hosted by Hope at Wuskowhan Players Club.
Two Flying Dutchmen golfers shot 4-over-par 76s. Sophomore Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), and freshman Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS), tied for eighth place.
Freshman Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS), chipped in a 78 to tie for 14th.
Junior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), tied for 19th with a 79.
Freshman Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS), had an 80.
