Sophomore Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), carded a 2-over-par 74 to lead the Hope College men's golf team during the final round of the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen finished fifth out of 10 teams with a 36-hole score of 601 (298-303).
Hoeksema tied for 16th place along with senior co-captain Kevin Cross of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), after 5-over. Cross had a 75 Saturday.
Freshman Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) tied for 25th at 7-over. He had a final-round 76.
Freshman Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS) rounded out the scoring for Hope on Saturday at 10-over. He shot a 78 on Saturday.
Junior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS), tied for 40th at 13-over after an 83 during the final round.
Individual scores for Hope came from Alec Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS) at 74-76—150, Jack Geshay of Indianapolis, Indiana (North Central HS), at 74-78—152, freshman Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) at 78-77—155, senior co-captain Paul Bardenhagen of Cedar, Michigan (Leland HS), at 74-82—156 and freshman Justin Folkert of Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton HS), at 88-85—173.
