Another week, another school record bettered for Hope College diver Sarah Sheridan. The senior from Richmond, Indiana (Richmond HS) surpassed her own dual-meet best on the 3-meter board during Saturday's 163-137 win at Albion.
Sheridan, pictured, posted a winning score of 306.85 points that eclipsed her previous school record of 303.5 that was set in January of 2014.
Sheridan topped her own 1-meter record last week.
Sheridan led 1-2-3 finishes in both 1- and 3-meter competition against Albion.
Senior Stephanie Polet of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) and freshman Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon HS) were second and third, respectively, in 1-meter at 237.05 and 230.70.
Plohetski was runner-up in 3-meter at 235.65, while Polet was third at 223.25
Sophomore Elizabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a swim of 11 minutes, 1.72 seconds and the 500 freestyle at 5:52.55.
Freshmen Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) and Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Plymouth Canton HS) went 1-2 in the 200 freestyle at 2:00.60 and 2:03.17.
Asselin was runner-up in the 100 freestyle at 55.75.
Senior Jorgie Watson of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) clocked the fastest times in the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.57 and the 200 breaststroke at 2:35.52.
Sophomore Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn HS) posted the best performances in the 200 butterfly at 2:12.82 and the 200 individual medley at 2:13.53.
Senior Klare Northuis of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) won the 50 freestyle in 24.94.
Freshman Elisabeth Craig of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) took first in the 100 butterfly at 59.87.
Hope clocked the top time in the 200 freestyle relay. Junior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS), Asselin, Brinks and Northuis went 1:40.21.
Meyer placed runner-up in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.48 and the 200 backstroke at 2:11.28.
Hope took second in the 200 medley relay. Northuis, Watson, Craig and Palajac had a time 1:52.63.
Hope returns to action next weekend at the Grand Valley State University Diving Invitational and a dual meet at Alma.
